5 Short Trips for Students in the Tropics

If you’ve managed to score a placement at one of North Queensland’s universities, lucky you, you’re studying in paradise!

With the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest on your doorstep, it’s a wonder you get any work done at all. When it all gets a little less crazy and you’re able to wriggle out from your pile of textbooks, here’s 5 things you should do on your uni break.

1.  CRYSTAL CASCADES

Remember that sweet tune by TLC ‘Don’t go chasing waterfalls’? Well, we say the complete opposite – chase those waterfalls! Crystal Cascades is the perfect spot for a refreshing dip.

2. THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

Trade in your usual four-wall classroom for the Great Barrier Reef and learn to scuba dive! If it’s not on your Aussie bucket list – it totally should be!

3. THE RED ARROW WALK

If your uni break resolution is to get fit and fabulous then the Red Arrow Walk in Cairns will have you dripping in sweat and feeling awesome in under an hour! Time to get physical and pump those endorphins.

4. NORTH QUEENSLAND

Road triiippppp! Whether you head north or south, North Queensland is full of secret spots to explore, just watch out for those cassowary’s crossing the road!

5.  THE ATHERTON TABLELANDS

Suffering those caffeine withdrawals? A trip to the coffee and tea plantations on the Atherton Tablelands will satisfy your cravings and ensure you keep your buzz going all day.
